其實台灣早期的防毒市場，幾乎是諾頓(Norton)與趨勢(Trend)的天下，是美台之爭，但也是被稱為台灣防毒雙霸天(不過現在是高手百家爭鳴的狀況)。而諾頓產品，其實是屬於賽門鐵克(Symantec)的產品之一，是針對個人、家庭、小SOHO族所用的；賽門鐵克另外還有針對企業推出的企業版---Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP)。

Norton向來在防毒上是非常老牌又有口碑，雖然在之前一段期間有因為耗系統資源、掃描時間長等缺點，以致令人詬病。但是在Norton 2009開始改版後，之前的缺點通通改善了!! 安裝快、不耗系統資源、掃描快等，更重要的是防毒技術不減反增，還增加了雲端、SONAR 2等技術加持!! 而 360系列則是更增加針對系統問題的技術服務。

*****開始安裝Norton 360 Version 5.0 Beta

1. 請前往官方網站，申請BETA測試版試用。之後請如下圖指示，點選【DOWNLOAD】

2. 接著，請填寫一些資訊，依序是：
      a. Select Country (選擇國家)：請選『Taiwan』
      b. Email：請填寫你的email，此mail是要收到測試序號的，請務必確實填寫
      c. Confirm Email：再次確認你剛剛填的email，請打一樣的email位址
      d. Notifications：如你願意收到括頓寄給你的產品訊息，請點此(選填選項，非必要)
      e. 請勾起『I agree to the submission terms and conditions.』
       f. 點選【NEXT】

3. 請點選【DOWNLOAD】

4. 當你下載完畢後，Norton寄給你的BETA測試序號，此時應該躺在你email裡面了，快去收信吧~~等等安裝時會用到喔!!

5. 請點擊剛剛下載的安裝檔案下載程式檔

6. 點選【執行(R)】

7. 接著，他會先去網路下載安裝檔，請務必保持網路連接!! 待下載完成後。安裝程式會自動開始安裝!!

8. 程式開始安裝初始化...

9. 請點選【Agree & Install】

10. 開始正式安裝Norton 360 v5 Beta

11. 完成安裝!! 請點選【Explore】

12. 程式會自動帶入到軟體啟動程序，請輸入剛剛在步驟2 & 4中提及，也就是你當時所填寫的email中，會有一封由Norton寄出的你專屬的測試用序號，請將該序號填入，之後請點選【Next】

13. 程式會開始進行啟動驗證....

14. 此時完成呢驗證程序!! 這裡是說註冊可以得更多好處跟資訊，就把email再填一次吧!!之後請點選【Next】

15. 填寫一些你的個人相關資訊(請記得國別選台灣Taiwan，以便Norton會更重視我們國家)，請點選【Agree & Install】，並恭喜完成安裝步驟~~^^

16. 防毒軟體的主畫面。可以看到我們病毒碼很久沒更新了，接著，我們要來更新病毒碼!

17. 請將滑鼠移到『PC Security』，之後請點選【Run LiveUpdate】。

18. 開始進行更新啦~~!! 很嚇人的安裝完首次更新要有84.35MB...我猜他防毒功能的核心是跟NIS 2011一樣的，所以病毒碼累積很多...(純屬猜測)

19. 更新完病毒碼之後~~你的電腦已經被安全低保護啦~~^^

其實Norton 360功能絕對不只是有防毒跟防火牆而已
他還有針對更多網路安全行為、電腦的備份與性能調校等多有著墨
